Not to bad for a day without any electricity :)
A few of us hardcore's waited it out until the power came back on at 11:45am. The management of the Kingston market were great and still served what breakfast they could on their propane stoves. It actually turned out to be a good day - we sold some bars and got the word out to the public about the Granola Girls. Can't wait to go again next weekend. Hope to see you all there!!

It's been a great week! We have been trying to get the website out there as much as possible and it seems to be working with all the orders coming in. I attended the Enterprise SJ seminar on Tuesday and it was a great learning tool! This weekend there is a small change in plans... the Granola Girls will not be attending the Kredl's market but instead we will be at the Kingston Farmer's Market on Saturday from 8am - 1pm. It should be a great opportunity to get the product out there in a great setting. We encourage everyone to take the beautiful drive across the ferry and come visit us at the Kingston Market where there is an amazing array of local talent.
We are slowly working through the bumps in the road starting up a small business. Everything is going fairly smooth though so keep your fingers crossed. The biggest thing we would like to get out there to everyone is that this is not just a seaonal holiday item... these granola bars will be something sold all year round for you and your families. Stay tuned to see how the weekend went and we will be posting some pictures from the different events we are attending. The normal digestive tract holds 4-5 meals at any time. - 1st being processed in the stomach - 2nd being processed in the small intestine - 3rd, 4th, and 5th at various stages in the large intestine (also called bowel or colon) - 'Elimination', Why Do I feel this Way by Christine Gaber and Charlene Day. Well, we have officially been starting to get the Granola Girls out there. We've completed our first couple of orders and everything has been a success and we have been getting some amazing feedback. We did a soft launch of the website and we are hoping to go strong next week. We have also been making progress with the product accessories. We are going to be purchasing boxes and labels for orders and some more marketing material... my specialty ;)
Aside from regular orders, the Granola Girls will have a table at the Kredl's Christmas Craft Festival on November 28th and 29th in Hampton. We welcome you all to come out and support us. We will also be teaming up with Jennifer Yeomans on November 28th where she will be selling her specialty cookies with us at the Festival. The Granola Girls will also be attending a few things this month we wanted to announce. A lunch and learn with Enterprise Saint John called The Business Timeline: Steps for taking your business from idea to reality. Another great workshop that will be held Monday, November 23rd at 7pm by Shaklee representative Diane Richardson. The topic this month is "Allergies, Asthma, and Household Cleaners." These workshops are a great way to learn about natural living and using vitamins to acheive a healthy lifestyle. We welcome anyone to come to this event!! It is held at the Kennebacasis Funeral Home at 152 Pettingill Road, Quispamsis. "This is the only step in the digestive journey over which we have conscious control. You can help your body out by using your teeth for the purpose they were intended (chew chew chew) and properly prepare your food for your stomach, or, you can start your stomach off at a big disadvantage from the beginning by sending down big chunks of food that will never be fully processed and will, therefore cause numerous problems." - The Journey of Food, Why Do I feel this Way by Christine Gaber and Charlene Day. Today was our first complete order! It's off to a nice start. Two trays turned out great and delivered! I think people are going to catch on quick since these bars are so healthy and delicious. And the biggest plus of all is that they are made locally. More and more everyday people are realizing that this "organic" and "natural" lifestyle is not just a fad. Disease and sickness is becoming very common these days because of our modern day diet. Our bodies are taking in very little nutrients and our immune system is are at an all time low.
Throughout this blog, we want to give you information about the granola girls - specials and where you will be able to find us. But also, we want to give you as much information as possible on how you can do little things to help improve your health and your lifestyle. Knowing is the key! We will be quoting alot from the book "Why Do I feel This Way?" written by Christine Gaber and Charlene Day. It is a great book describing self help solutions for your symptoms and what vitamins can help you treat things naturally. So stay tuned and we hope to help provide you with some interesting things you didn't know. We encorage comments and questions! This is ganna be fun! |
